• Check sheave and drum groove radii using sheave gauge to ensure that they are no
smaller than nominal rope radius +2.5%. Bridon recommends that the sheave/drum
groove radii are checked prior to any rope installation.
• Repair or replace drum/sheaves if necessary.
• Check fleet angles in the reeving system — a fleet angle in excess of 1.5 degrees
may cause distortion (see page 44)
• Check that rope end has been secured in accordance with manufacturer's
instructions (see page 56 and 57).
• Check operating conditions for induced turn.
you will find that flex-ex 19 will give you excellent service in the 9/16 and 5/8 sizes that boom trucks use.
 
I'll soon be seeing some of the people I gifted with some of my old slings, I'll be sure to either demand them back, or maybe cut them so they are useless, or demand that they sign a release that I will hire a lawyer to draw up.

Just kidding, that ain't going to happen, ever. I'll take my chances, sue me.
I should mention these are neighbors, that live in the same mountainous area as me, and everyone having a free sling under the seat in case of someone getting stuck is a GOOD THING, and NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING SUED OVER. At least here, and at least for me. I appreciate the heads up, don't me get me wrong, I just refuse to heed it.
