TRT Workshop

WOW! The photography (Koko [chan?]) sure has a wonderful feel to it. She seemed nearly invisible on the site, allowing me to forget she was there. Looking back at those moments, in the way she captured them, takes me right back...I remember each one! I'm amazed at her ability to find lines of color to frame the subject field. It's like we were floating in/on explosions. Thanks so much for posting those, Paul, and for supporting your local artists and community so well. Hand made! I believe it, too!

Climbing with you is a true gift. You have taught me so much, and the energy you've put out to create these workshops is something I aspire to. I'm very much looking forward to introducing you and the crew to the States next Spring. Everyone stay tuned for that, as we're all in for a real treat! SRT Banzai!!! TRT Banzai!!! Paul san BANZAI!!! (...using "banzai" in its traditional reference to long life...;))

I'll make an effort to post up a few photos from Komatsu san's Site, as some will relate to the TRT in action. Command the Working End. Manage less Standing End. Enjoy the 1:1. Pack it all into a 5 liter bag!

I just wanted to continue on or perhaps finish off this little thread about my recent TRT workshop that two Buzzers helped to make happen.... this thread may develop..or not, but I will say this; the rigging and thus the climbing potential is huge with TRT. It truly mixes up DdRT and SRT and comes up with a hybrid system quite unlike either.

I am so glad to see this thread continue and anxiously await any developments of new techniques you can share. Have you been following daigentanoen on his YouTube site? Your thoughts on his TRT experiments would be valuable. I just hope this thread does not fade away to Facebook as it seems many thread do. Looking forward the the new potentials TRT can offer!

I have a few decent shots from the Genba (jobsite), and from the Workshop...

The garden and small shrine below 4 Cryptomeria trees to be removed along this side of the residence.

The view of the Alps from aloft.

Banzai Paul san!!! Paul working through 7 other trees along the opposite side of the residence. Using TRT to access and work position throughout the process.

Drifting the second to last 4 meter section uphill to the LZ. Also using TRT throughout.

We must not damage anything in the garden below. Here, we prevented the base of the log from smashing an aqueduct leading to the waterfall.

Our branch & log pile. Everything rigged and transferred to the LZ from 25 meters away. Left to Right: Komatsu san, Takagi san, Paul san, Eric san, Yuji san.

Hiro san in a Birch tree above the TRT Workshop Group.

Paul, Landon, and myself on the ride to Day 2 of the workshop. Perhaps as much facial hair as the tiny car can handle.

I quit FB last month, it became too much of a black hole, sucking meaning away at every opportunity, so let's continue to talk. Daigenta San certainly experiments, beyond that and the funny music I don't take much notice because it seems an exploration of gear rather than movement. I'm interested in addressing the technical issue that binds or/and allows movement in order to more fully integrate myself into the tree. I feel that Eric and I have made some advances and while the system is far from complete, it sure seems to be getting there.
Oceans, thanks for posting the photos. I found a great bag combo for TRT fliplining and will post something up this weekend!

BANZAI !!!

Very cool! Stoked to see what you've come up with. A 5 liter bag makes me think of a Ford Mustang. Maybe I can find a 7.3 liter bag...

Trick! Two seperate bags looks like a great way to fly.

Do those stay open and fairly rigid for easy packing? Do they have Adrain hole? Do you pack them by folding up a handful of bights and stuffing in as you go?

Paul and Eric rule! This was the best training I have attended. I learned a ton about TRT, had a lot of fun and everyone I met was extremely welcoming. I hope to go back to Japan again. Thanks guys!

Ive heard TrT has some ddrt properties...is that the capability of advancing the anchor? or some further likeness?
thanks
TRT definitey gives you total control of the working end. So, yes, you get the benefits of a dynamic system since you can easily relocate your anchor point when you reach it, or from afar. You can also climb with all the benefits of a stationary system since you can ascend or descend 1:1.

There are many ways to build a TRT system, and it'S not limited to a Rope Runner.

Skinny rope bags , look tough also :)

Eric has used Petzl Vector, the stitched eyes give a different nuance to the rigging and the solidness of the lines sometimes mean a twist will interfere in the Runner. I spent my first day on Vector today and really like the feeling of it.
