Trees from a distance

I had hoped this one would go for a little bit longer.... Although I am not very good at differentiating between all the Tamaracks.

Thanks! The way I think of them is, tamarack (laricina) look a little rattier than European (decidua), but they have a more graceful form. I'm not familiar with the western ones. I'll get something up soon.

That is a big one, how old do you estimate it to be? Looks like a lead ripped out and the remaining stub was cut off back to what is left of the branch collar?

I'd guess it's around 100-120 based on the local history... It's not a client's property, but it looks like some storm damage and a bit of a slab cut. The tree is totally neglected, but doing just fine... 'Preservation through neglect' we call it.
