Treemotion double bridge

I’ve got the old treemotion then bought two Petzl open rings with a fixed rope bridge and I ran the rings inside of the green lower ds. I occasionally depending on the way I’m oriented find that the Petzl ring gets in the way of clipping In to the green lower ds but never enough to be a safety issue basically just not slick looking. I bought a large dmm focus shackle and it fit for the same configuration without getting in the way of the lower d, also nice to keep it all dmm hardware on the saddle.

What's the deal with 2 bridges? Just backup incase you cut one?

I don't use my second TM bridge as a back up. It comes in super handy climbing on two different lines with multicenders, or when you're in that situation where you want a second tie-in with your lanyard on the bridge (not on your D's) and... you might only have one free hand because you're in some interesting position in a tree and it's too fidgety trying to get the lanyard hooked into the same ring or swivel that your multicender is hooked into. The second bridge with a ring (the way I rig it) is just hanging there and it's super easy to get a carabiner on to the ring. Most of the time I'm on one bridge with a swivel on it but having the option to clip into the second bridge is sweet when you want it. When I'm ascending (especially with a knee ascender) or generally not using the second bridge I clip the ring into a side D with a Kong mini D. That keeps things neat. My second bridge is on the lower D's attached with sewn eyes. The sewn eyes don't need to be a super tight eyes and shouldn't be, they slide out of the way by gravity so the front/lower D's are always available without having to push the second bridge down on the lower D's to make room for lanyard clip in.

Here's my TM double bridge setup...

Showing the second bridge clipped up out of the way. When I'm on the ground I'll clip both bridges up on opposite side D's to keep them out of the way.

How did you get that eye to eye on the d rings?

I hand sewed the cordage on to the D's.

I hand sew my own eyes, I've had them break tested etc. and have verified I have a sound technique with excellent test results. There's an epic thread titled "Documenting my hand sewn eye process" in the Buzz "The Splice Rack" section that has it all there.

I wonder if it's possible to have bridge cordage machine sewn on to the lower D's? Since the eyes shouldn't be tight like "normal" eyes it may be possible.
