A freak accident kills a Franklin County man. Firefighters rushed to Warner Hill Road in Charlemont where they found a man trapped under a tree.
The Northwestern District Attorney's office identified the man as 60 year old Lawrence Parker of Charlemont.
He was logging on private property when a tree fell and struck him. Parker was taken by ambulance to Baystate Franklin Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after noon on Monday.
State police say the owners of the property live out of state and were not home.
