McCall pilot rescued after plane gets stuck at top of 60-foot tree

A small plane that crashed near McCall on Monday night got hung up at the top of a fir tree. A firefighter climbed the tree to rescue the 79-year-old pilot, who was uninjured.

Pretty amazing!
Very lucky to have a fireman on scene that was also knowledgeable in tree climbing and rigging.

I'd like to hear if they use a helicopter to remove the plane or if they do something else and kinda rig it down somehow.

Yea this was definatly one of the best story's I've heard... But if acker wasn't there or wasn't an arborist that was good enough I don't know how that would have worked out....probably not well. Sounds like they also got lucky with how the plane landed on that top.

Man I could only imagine climbing up that tree looking up at an air plane above me !lol

Very selfless and admirable, or a little suicidal...
I guess you would have to really keep that pilots health and family in mind and keep telling yourself that it's on u to save that man's life.
Talk about being clutch, I'm sure Jordan wouldn't even want the ball for that play.
