tree top kitty cat extraction... enjoy!

Do you do many cat rescues? Do you always go sans bag? My very first rescue I went up thinking I'd just grab the cat and descend. That dang thing sunk it's claws in my neck and chest, and I barely made it down.

King size pillowcase. Put your hand all the way to the bottom, grab the scruff of the neck, and pull the pillowcase over the body. Works a treat.

LOL that was the easiest one I've seen. Last cat I got was in a park (some lady threw him out of a moving BMW ...). Stuck 50 ft up an oak tree, and I chased him out to 2" wood on a branch, with a really crappy limb-walk (low angle). Had to grab him by the scruff more than once, since I couldn't get his claws out of the branch. About 10 minutes of negotiating and I finally got him into my bag and cinched the top. Rapped down on my RW and called it a day as it was already pitch dark outside.

So if the lady that owned him tossed him out of a moving car, who was it that called for his rescue?

A neighbour saw it happen. They called a local cat rescue organization. After looking for a little while, the VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association) found the cat in the oak and gave me a call.

it was a friends of mines cat and it knew me fairly well, when you have one way out on a limb, or anything other than just a straight up and down climb then yeah bag fosho.

Nice job. I'll pull up a cat carrier once in awhile but most have come peaceably. I rescued one cat 7 times. Once for people house sitting for the owners. They had left my number with the other emergency contacts info!
