Saw this from Mark's posting yesterday. Couldn't you just do the same thing using a regular AFS (Adjustable Friction Saver)?

I don't see why not. Looks like it might be wire core, making it easier to position.

Not wire core, special rope construction. The goal is something stiff that flips like a wire core, so that someone spiking up a tree has a cinching, lowerable system while ascending. Definitely possible with other FS styles, but probably not as easy. I've made one, and while it works, the squeeze looks like a better design. Teufelberger’s fimblesaver and fimbleclimb might be comparable.

An adjustable friction saver... how revolutionary.

They previously called it the Buck Squeeze. If you have a couple drinks you'll understand why they changed they name.
