Tree Motion Defect??

I make hundreds of things, and cut trees, yes a pruning cut can sometimes go a little wry, but a manufactured item should be graded and inspected, if I was the floor manager I would have cut it through the middle to make sure employees knew that mistakes are not taken lightly.
That's why I think this harness has made it out through the wrong channels.

Pretty simple, Teufelberger is an ISO 9001 certified company. Continuous improvement of products and processes is one of the elements of this certification. This does not mean they won't have problems but that they are going to address them. Tuttle's harness is not consistent with others. There are all sorts of possible reasons for this none of which is really important to us short of outright sabotage. It's new; its not to your liking; there is the appearance that the dye cuts are not accurate or have come out of spec.
Maybe it isn't even a slip of the knive. Maybe the overall opening of that slot is not quite wide enough.
So if its not a defect in workmanship it's a defect in design of either the product or the dye? So does this not make it even more so an issue to address with the manufacturer?

Quality manufacturers and retailers take things back that don't meet customer expectations all the time. In most warranties they cover not just manufacturer defects but also workmanship. It could be good enough but that's not what we pay for nor expect, specially where our lives are at stake.

If it is as Tuttle suggests then it's a matter of employee theft and much more serious. I dealt with a situation like that with ATI graphic cards many years ago. Someone on the line was taking the latest high end cards and replacing them with much older cheaper models on the assembly line just before the packaging was sealed. A costly annoyance for everyone from the customer to the retailer and ultimately for ATI and their reputation.

I'd like to hear from Reliable what the outcome was.

I received a PM from a Teuf rep on this site after she came across my post. She took one look at the photos and immediately told me that it is not the way the cutouts are supposed to be and that they would like to exchange my harness for a new one right away. I just have to send it back to Teuf at their expense and they will send me a new one.

As I expected, top notch customer service from a great company. I am a big supporter of what they do and the products they bring to the market and will continue to be after this is over. This is the first problem I have had with anything of theirs and I don't doubt that this is a very rare occurrence

We all agree that this is not a safety issue but is a defect in workmanship nonetheless. This is not an issue of them not meeting my expectations as much as it is them not meeting their own. Good enough for me not to plummet to my death maybe but not what I paid for and not what they want to be giving to their customers.

Thanks Teufleberger for excellent customer service!
