Tree machine bar clamps

Oregon has made a version you pound into a stump with your axe for a while....ummm guessing you noticed that, but ??
Personally I would just continue to use the bench vice Kev, if I used a vice to file, alas I dont like to file with the saw at that angle or orientation, unless the vise is mounted on a swivel....I'm a tailgate man, bent over the saw like a filing demon, been doing it that way so long, its hard to file now at any other attitude.

Still, looks a very handy tool for many, Im sure these will be gravy as 'Bing stated.

Who carries a stump around with them. That thing is great for fire fighters and loggers. This little clamp would be easy to attach to your tailgate. Much more user friendly than a vice.

Yep I agree Kevin. I am going to have one put on my tailgate right away. We use a bench vise for sharpening at the the shop. My personal chainsaws though stay in my pickup and when I am out on sidejobs this would be perfect!

I knew the stump vise was out there but couldn’t see pounding it into stumps and removing it. I have always balanced saws on knees, pinned them with elbows etc..

I had a set of these bar clamps mounted on a 3/4 in. strip of plywood hanging by my bench for use with related Chainmeister tool. (Chain, bar, and Chainmeister tool only - no powerhead.) Came home with two saws with 28 in. bars and a saw with a 42 in. bar planning to file them before putting them away. I started to file them on my bench and then thought I would try stabilizing saw in bar clamp. What a difference. And since I don’t need to hold saw, my “weak side” filing may not be weak anymore.

I’ll try a couple of pics:

I,ve just bolted a swivel vise to my ute's tailgate cost about $50 and since it swivels i can have it at any angle. And good for holding the polesaw shaft when filing.

This is a picture of 3/4" strip of plywood and t-nuts I used to set up a bar vise for various size bars, and moveable to other surfaces than my bench such as my pick up tail gate.
