Restoration pruned a topped black cherry (Prunus serotina).
Nothing interesting...except for the back story:
I work on a college campus. This tree sits adjacent to a dormitory. It's the only topped tree we have on the grounds. Legend has it that a few years back, a student living in the dorm felt like the tree was blocking his view of the valley (great views where I work on top of a mountain)! So, this joker must have scored a ladder to haul up the first 15' of clear trunk, then hand over hand free climbed it to the top and started hatracking the poor tree with a bow saw until someone official caught him and stopped him.
And there I was today...
