There were quite a bit of wood debris packed in a narrow slot above the anvil and beneath the metal of the throat of the infeed. This made it quite difficult to remove the anvil. After thinking about this over lunch, I thought of using a sawzall to cut out the wood debris packed above the anvil. It worked great and the anvil slid out nicely.
