For those who are curious and to be fair!
I was just reacting on Riggs replay on Kids mail about the Throwline storage (To get a German who makes an marmelade jug for a 100 bugs).I guess everybody knows what he was talking about (the cube like you guys call it over there)
I just thougt that that was unnecessary and asked him if he have a problem with germans or german inventions. And explained a bit where the costs come from.
I mailed him directly becaue I wasnt logged in by then and I forgot to add my mailadress.
Themes to be a big thing!?

I'll be honest with you , I am PRO- American . Sorry . the cube is cool , and I bought one from Greg . Is it an invention ? no . is it sold in America ? yes . I bought three "cubes", the difference in all three?the price , small design here and there , one cost me 6 bucks (USA) the other was 7 bucks (USA) and the third was 80 bucks , gee I wonder where that came from .

An American Arborist living in America !

Riggs,
easy to understand that you are PRO- American, fine by me but you dont have to talk in a way like you did about other Nations or people you dont know.
I know the guy who is doing the cube pretty well and I promise you he is not getting rich on it.
He had just an Idea and thougt it might be good to bring it on the Market to help other Arborists, not to make big Money.
So if you think its to expensive dont by it but dont talk shit about it.
Another thing you might think different about: I dont care at all wich country my workmate comes from or where the inventor of some equipment comes from, the important thing is I`am working with the same thing as he does at that`s what its about. I believe Developement; even in Treecare business comes trough exchange of experience and Ideas of those people who are involved in the whole thing, no matters where they are from.
But anyway Riggs i suggest we can discuss about this in Seattle if you are there or want to cause I dont think it belongs on this Website.
By the way: Mark Chisholm this to you! This Website is a great thing, a perfect place to have an exchange of experiences, very interesting especially for people who are pretty new in the business. I know I`am not the last European who`s going to get involved here.

Thanks for the good feedback, Thilo. I do appreciate it as does Tom.

Now for the disagreement, no worries. We don't all have to agree about all things ( the cube included) but let's be cool and professional and make some new posts. Enjoy.

I dont want to really add fuel here, but just a reply to riggs. I made a after market peice that goes along with a CMI ascender for srt climbing. Now the cost is $45.oo US, but to look at these things you would think they should be less and maybe you can make them for less.I'm not in it to make money, but to just see people use the things in the tree industry. It cost me almost the same as i'm selling them for.I've given away as many as i've sold.Did I come up with the idea? I dont know , but I havn't seen another. Not all products are made to make tons of money. In my case definatly not. JUst want to see my product on the market and being used in the industry and to here someone say," Hey have you tried that new GLeasy sytem? aint it cool? " that will make me more happy than the money.
Greg

Please Riggs add my original mail I dont have it anymore) so everybody can see what its about. And no worries Mate we can discuss it here if its that what you want, might be interesting and by the way, you threw a jab? This is no fight, its a discussion for me!
Thanks Klimbinfool you hit the nail on the hat and you themes to know exactly what I`am talking about.
So there are enough climbers who epriciate this little thing. So he gets the money he (my buddy) invest in the cube back and you use your marmelade jug Riggs and everybody is happy.

Just wait soon an ethical American company will have a new invention called a folding cube or box or what ever. And it will be a steal at $120.00. If you were to look back at all inventions for the tree industry and see who gets rich it sure as hell is not the climber who invented it, speaking from experience. Best regards Tony.

P.S. I am PRO-American and vary thankful that the Germans do not hold that against me, they (the Germans) have treated me with the up most amount of respect and over looked my brash American style. Tony

Hi Tony!
I`am very shure about that ( That another Company will come with some sort of a Copy and earn the money on somebodys Idea )!
Another one who understand what I`am talking about! Thats what I meant to have some appreciaton for the people who come with something new who makes live on the way up, or up in the tree easyer for us.
Cheers!
See you in Seattle.
Thilo

If anyone is interested I have some all american made throwline buckets available for only $2.00. Just sold one today.Just ask Roachy he saw the money exchange hands.

They allready have the folding cube for a steal at less than ten dollars. There is a difference between having an idea for a product and inventing a product . Trust me I buy every thing new (cool) for tree work since they started . The cube is cool , and a great IDEA . Next topic please ...
