Well the scrap steel price is real high. Someone stole a trailer for a small grinder and an extra boom and grapple for my log loader.

Both in excellent shape. A shame it went to scrap Im sure. There was a pile of scrap ready to go but I guess this was easier. Now I have to cable the entrance off.

Thieves suck...
Remember if your one to buy "hot " items at great prices.....someday you might buy your own stuff.

I filed a police report and contacted several people I know in that business. The 1 scrap yard took in 40,000 tons yesterday alone. There are 6 yards near me so it would be to time consuming to travel to look myself.

Had my trucks broken into last week, my guys take all their gear out every night, the thieves didn't want to leave empty handed so they stole the pintle hitches off the trucks and the batteries off my bucket truck. If you hear of me killing someone, you will know why. Sorry you got ripped off, allmark.

I freaking hate thieves.

Sorry your shop was rummaged, Mark.

I believe in Karma, and I'm not saying that something immediately bad will happen to whoever ripped your stuff off, but they are probably one step away from landing in a real bad spot........just imagine if you caught them doing it!

Mark your right THIEVES SUCK!! And vandals are a notch lower than thieves. Rising scrap prices have the thieves running rampant these days.

Had my car stolen last year. It's a weird feeling that's hard to explain--basically rage. Police found it on the street stripped of plastic body mouldings, dash components, tires/wheels, windows smashed. They had replaced the wheels with stolen mini spares just so they could dump it off. I would have rather given it away rather than having it trashed and sitting in the junk yard. No comp coverage.

My father-in-laws Lincoln Navigator was stolen awhile back. They found it 3 months later parked less than a mile away with not a scratch on it and full tank of gas!

It's all part of the way we humans function. Make an investment in some remote cameras, alarms, and signs that let thieves know that they're being watched. In the end it's a game of keeping one step ahead of the rabble.
