The New Treemotion

But I hope to be a Meh climber with easy, quick mid line attachablity ( I like my new word )
I'm a meh climber and proud of it. Still, the question I have is whether I need all the added cost of a new Evo and it's double rope bridge, compared to other less expensive saddles, like the Tree Austria costing $100's less. I presently use my TM with a second rope bridge and it's fine for now. I want a second saddle though, so I can teach climbing to my friends. Perhaps other saddle manufacturers will adopt the dual floating rope bridge as well, and come up with a super comfortable, lightweight, and durable harness solution like the Evo, but in the $300-$400 range.

Petzl Sequoia SRT 2019 :
-comfortable

They covered their stitching on the bridges!
And made a treemotion-esque lower D!

Petzl still stole the rope wrench.
There's a good argument to make on both sides but one thing ill say is that I haven't read anything saying u can use the chicane with hitch cord. I've only read that its meant for the zz. Ya it works like a rope wrench but seems less versatile. Everybody has "stole" something from petzl at one time or another. I just can't dislike any of our industry gear manufacturers. Yeah I don't like some things that they do but as long as they are trying to make things easier and safer for us, I can only be thankful.

I'm on the fence with Petzl, since I think they at least owe Kevin some sort of recognition. As for their SRT Sequoia saddle, the specs look great and $450 is still a bit much, but it's doable. Adding a second rope bridge and maybe shoulder strap suspenders would be cool too. Too bad they don't come with a chest roller.

I could be wrong but i think that petzl made the gated d rings before tuefelberger. I think I seen it on the new avao sit fast harness as a ventral attachment point for the croll and batten seat. I love Kevin's work too. Love my wrench. But petzl probably has done a lot more for our industry if not many other trades that work at height than Kevin has. Hard to think their gonna give him and credit when no one gives them their credit. Idk guys just get over it.

That’s cause it’s crap. I still feel queasy from the rope replacement I got, climbed on it once then put the webbing one back on and reorder ed

My backup climber chewed through his cover on his Sequoia bridge in just a few months.

I wasn't worried about the gated rings. It's the bridge being located at the back of the lower d rings so that they don't interact with things attached there. I like them better than paws, and the old ring open setup is my least favorite.

I am happy Petzl found it necessary to replicate Kevin's rope wrench. The more the merrier, from a capitalistic free market perspective. Aside from the RW being well suited for beginners and a good percentage of other climbers, it's only one out of a number of newer multicenders, and IMHO it may rank 3rd or maybe 4th, at the moment. I'm surprised Petzl hasn't been redirecting their energies on more compact solutions. I mean the ZigZag/RW has it's place, but the two products combined don't hold a candle to the Rope Runner, excluding the excessive costs. Too little, too late, IMHO.

I have the Buckingham ergo spartan and it has always been one size to big and few things have started to wear out on it and the belt loosens up as i climb which may be due to it being a little to big. It has a great number of gear attachments and I prefer the rigging plate rope bridge attachment. Is there a saddle with a traditional belt style with tones of gear loops and that style of rope bridge. I feel like I have seen it before but have been having trouble finding it. I have been thinking about the treemotion but it just looks a little to flimsy for me.

I had the same impression of the TM, narrow webbing, small diameter bridge, etc. however I have 0 regrets, and it’s been pretty damn bomb proof. For me it’s long from worn out, but getting up on the years. Actually it’s just staring to feel broken in.

Buckingham rebellion sounds like what your looking for. I know I wanted one but then I had enough money so I got the treemo instead cuz I love to customize for the variables that we face at work

My trusty TreeMo has been anything but flimsy.
