The Gulf Oil Spill

The whole thing is the craziest mess I have seen from T.V. With all the knowledge in this world we still cannot come up with a plan to just do the clean up and containment of this spill. It has just turned into the biggest blame game. I just want to know what the F are they going to do when the hurricanes get ramped up. All you need is one to swing in and then you can have the biggest cleanup from inland too. I mean just imagine a cat. 4-5 hurricane blowing in with the tidal surge that comes with it and you have tar balls through out the swamps and coastal cities and towns. I think this is at the point where any help from anyone would be to their benefit to the clean up.
 
Within the first week after the rig disaster 'we' had skimming arms (worlds biggest) for (if I remember correctly) 6 ships ready to depart. These arms where supposed to be fitted to American ships with American crew complemented by Dutch experts. Just needed the word "GO". That word "GO" came three weeks ago.

What about the centrifuge that Kevin Costners co. designed 15 years ago? No nation would even entertain him until now. USA said the machine didnt meet regulations because it only purified 99% of the water, not good enough for our waters he was told. Now 2 months into this mess and they are buying 32 of the machines. What a waste of time and beauracratic red tape. Obama should be held accountable for his mishandling of this spill, its ruining our country.

i live in louisiana and treespotter is right!!!! obama did not want the help from some body else!!!!! he wanted to blame someone else. he wants to act like the big hero by saying "i got bp to pay" but he does not care at all!! there was a photo shoot here, and 3 hrs before obama got there, all kind of people came to act like they were cleaning up!! all dressed up in pretty white suits and white boots, after obama left, they all picked up and left 2 hrs later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes it did happen like that!!!!!!!! he does not care!!!!!!!!!!

Obama making BP put funds aside is a strong arm tactic that would get anyone else imprisoned. This is something a court of law mandates, not a member of the Executive branch of Govt. Crying shame that this guy is this much opf a socialist and proponent of Govt having more power. Slowly losing our rights as we know them.
 
Well this is the biggest show of wait lets watch and see I have seen. What would be cool is to hear from the workers who are doing the clean up hear their way of doing the clean up not somebody who sits in an office, and when poop hits the fan puts on boots to see and be for a time. If we in this industry acted that way love to see the damage. Trees down all over,pests not under control,etc. You get to a bid hear the problem then what turn in a report to see what will happen,Nooooo we figure it out using the best means to not do damage and remedy the situation. I don't know what happened to the voices of the working person, but why do they rely on people that have no exp. in these kinds of messes. In Dessert Storm how many gallons where blow out and all over. what happened ? Now this I really hate to see what it takes to quiet this down. Imo let some school kids shoot some ideas at them and do them I bet they work.
 
People who work around me and with me wonder why I don't like politics. I mess up I don't look at my groundy or anybody else just a couple F bombs and deal with it. Bull for next pres.

Gotta add in Howard Stern yeppers I voted when he ran a long time ago for N.Y. to funny . Wonder what it would be like to get one of the Rosevelts cloned and put them back in office. My grandfather said back then they made pres. and they where a$$ kicking pres.
 
FDR was hated by many. He was not supported by the business class of America because they feared his reforms and felt that his administration was spending to much money. He made tons of unpopular decisions. IMO, the historical view seldom represents what the sentiment of the times was.

The hell with getting funds put aside, their assets should be frozen. I don't care who 'tells' them. I was listening to an interview the other day that indicated that the president does indeed have the power to do the former at least, so you'll probably want to debate that point. I don't have alot of time to look it up, and don't know for sure, but I did hear it on NPR. I believe the speaker was an official correspondent from Washington who knows what they are talking about fwiw.

By no means should Obama or anyone else be let off the hook for this. I can't understand why the military and any other resources were not and have not been brought in sooner. It's a coddamn mess.

I belvie the fact they are alittle buzy fighting a war on terroist? This really boils down to a simple fact our govrenment lets others come over here and drill off our coast yet we wont. We deserve everything we get from this mishap.
 
Well duhh look how long it took for the millitary to get into New Orleans after Katrina. I am telling you put a suction hose or some device in a corporates hands for 8-10 hours a day for a week and I bet they say well time for a new plan and something that works. Get all of BP and the Obama adm. out there for a good week of 8-10 hour days amd this will be fixed and cleaned up in a week. Oh yeah whos watching Alex out there in the gulf! Here they come season is ramping up!
