The BuzzMobile and camper

On Sunday morning I opened Craigslist to look for a small pop-up camping trailer. For the past few weeks I've been looking at the little uns that motorcycles pull. Since I'm going to be in campgrounds I don't see the need to go ultralight. On the other hand, I'm not old enough to go heavy either.

In '79 I was on the ferry from Bayfield to Madeline Island in Wisconsin. there was a couple on a motorcycle with a small trailer. We chatted and then found them the next night to look at their camper.

I found this trailer over in LaGrange...yes, the ZZ Top-LaGrange

I made a great deal on it and brought it home! The first mod is to find an awning or add a room to make a bit more shade.

Now it's time for the Tom-Touch to start!

Oh man all day! That thing is the kill, Tom. for an awning you can get a cargo parachute with cords at any surplus shop. With throwline and gear from your bag o stuff you don't use much and your rigging skills you could rig an awsome awning and it would be different every time you set it up bra. It packs down into an old rope bag in seconds.

Whiz,

when I went winter camping in MN we used parachutes for shelter. the white one that I have is an round one made in '54 I think. We could sleep eight people under it with enough room for their gear too. Even with frost buildup is packed small!
