The Bry-Dan Saddle

Here is an old pic... using the bry-dan some 12 years ago.

I still have it, (my second one), but it just sits idle on the middle shelf of my truck.

I spoke with Don Blair yesterday afternoon and he said that the new Bry-Dan will be available in mid-May.

He said that out of all the new European saddles, the Bry-Dan performs the most like the TreeFlex and he will put it up against any saddle out there. Of course the Bry-Dan was the original high tech saddle.

For those of you who know Don, he doesn't BS around. If he says it he means it.

Robert Phillips has given his approval of this new saddle too.

We need pictures!

I just ordered mine. I will see if I can get some pictures from the ASC Z133 meeting, Don is bringing one with him.

I am looking forward to having a saddle that I can wear in the bucket and climb out of the bucket as well.

I have climbed on many different types and brands of saddles over the last 21 years and the Bry-Dan is the best saddle I have ever worn.

I may still try some other ones from time to time, but when it is time for work, I will always reach for the Bry-Dan.

Pictures would be most appreciated. Very much interested in what has been changed. I would love to be able to go back to the Bry-Dan.

Do you know what the current pricing will be or is?

Tim, I was wondering what saddle you wore while in the bucket?

I still need to see if the new Bry-Dan can be set up for SRT like my TreeFlex.

It depends on who I am working for and which bucket. Lately I have been working for someone who uses a full body harness with fall arrest. I will wear a saddle underneath the full body when I need to climb out of the bucket.

I footlock with my current Bry-Dan, so I can see using it for SRT as well.

ive got a DBI SALA from my cell tower days I still love it. I spent twelve hours a day in that harness 6-7 days a week and it always felt like sitting in the clouds, I took many naps waiting for the ground to send more steel or a dish. I use it as my bucket harness now. When I leave the bucket I am always reminded of how comfortable it is and how long that it has held up. For blocking down bigger wood with a large saw you cant beat the suspenders. It has a seat wich gets hung up when moving through tight crotches, I sometimes consider getting a new one with leg straps and fitting it with a bridge but looking at the Bry-Dan that may not be necessary.

I have never used the Bry-Dan, but being disapointed with the durability of saddles these days im looking in that direction.

I am on a Glide now and for a buckingham the durability douse not seam to be there. that just seams to be the way things are going, everything is disposable.

will the new ones last as long as those original ones???

Jeff, I think that the Bry-Dan saddle has already proven itself over the years by the many users who swear by it.

I don't think that it could promise to be any better than it already was, but it sure sounds like there are many new features that will make it better than the original.

Here are some pics from first book that Don gave me awhile back when I bought my first Bry-Dan,,

Like the new add on the new style ,, Good Job

Later in SO-CAL

Scott I'll post some pics when the new Bry-Dan comes in.

Shouldn't be long now. Tim and I spoke with Don Blair on Friday and he's finishing up the first batch of the new saddles.

Look for new pics soon!
