What's going on here, this is a game you can play in the Off Tree stuff thread.
There's more about POMs in the cricket thread and I'm sure I put up a short radio game where they use the term, they use it on TV all the time, they have it on Billboards etc.
It's not racist or anything of that nature, just a name. Just like we call some-one from Adelaide a Crow Eater or an American a Yank.

Of course some would like to construe more to the matter but also the Brits dont have a problem calling themselves the Barmy Army. Name given "BARMY" by themselves to themselves coz you'd have to be barmy to think you can win a game of cricket against the Aussies.

What you have been told about POHM on prison clothes is BS too, Axeknots version is more so accurate. Here's a bit of guff to show that accusations like that of MB's are simply tainted and untrue.

"On September 27, 2006, the Australian cricketing authority Cricket Australia ruled that it was OK for cricket fans to refer to the English as 'Poms' after a wide-ranging review on potentially racist terms."
Stop trying to make mountains out of molehills, CRIKEYS!
Now enjoy the game, so far Jerseys the man to beat.
