Terex no longer make brush chippers?

<div class="bbWrapper">Yes, they did exit the hand fed chipper market recently. It&#039;s been talked about on here in several threads. Here&#039;s one that I know mentioned it:<br /> <br /> <a href="http://www.treebuzz.com/forum/threads/shout-out-to-carl-aka-lumberjack-on-setting-me-up-with-a-new-chipper.31924/#post-457292" class="link link--internal">http://www.treebuzz.com/forum/threa...g-me-up-with-a-new-chipper.31924/#post-457292</a></div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Yes it&#039;s too bad because they are great chippers ! We are loving our new 730! Thanks to Lumberjack once again for hooking me up with that! It was supposed to be our backup chipper but we&#039;ve been using it 75% of the time since I bought it in December</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Anyone on here ever had clutch problems, or is it just a guy i know from my neck of the woods that was plagued with them even on a brand new machine?</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">At some point some company from who knows where will pick up the rights to manufacture them. Or just straight up copy them.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I thought I asked the same thing, but I don&#039;t see my post...<br /> <br /> The only clutch problem I&#039;ve heard of was someone who didn&#039;t know how to engage the clutch smoked the clutch with next to no hours on it. I heard they thought it should be warrantied. They were holding it against the snap over point without snapping it over... Had someone standing there holding the clutch while they fed it. At least that&#039;s the gist of what I remember hearing.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">The 730 is a good little chipper, I bought one and put almost 600 hours on it, no major issues. Have about 150 hrs on a new one I bought in 2015.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">We have the option to buy a year old 730 for around 18k right now. Is there any concern about parts avail. In the distant future? We will be demoing it next week, I&#039;ve heard good things but I&#039;m conflicted with the line being discontinued....</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I can&#039;t speak on terex specifically since I&#039;ve never been very close to one, but every chipper manufacturer that I&#039;m aware of, with the exception of vermeer (good reason not to buy a vermeer) uses off the shelf parts.</div>

I&#039;m a small woodlot owner (about 50 acres) and looking for a chipper to manage my own property. Have been keeping an eye out for a machine (2nd hand) that is big enough to take care of anything I&#039;ll throw to it. I&#039;d like to chip up to about 6&quot;. Anything bigger than that I&#039;ll make firewood. Of course, cost is going to be the big factor. I see a Terex 705 in craigs list for under 8K.<br /> Previous conversation strings mention that Terex isn&#039;t making chippers anymore... but you mentioned that you bought up parts inventory... and someone said that Terex (among others) used off-the-shelf parts.<br /> So..... I&#039;d like to get an opinion on the 705.... and how easy will it be to get parts for that machine?<br /> Would like to hear anyone elses opinion also.<br /> Thanks.<br /> Joe</div>
