Tenex as rigging line?

I have Tenex slings but it's a loose braid and can pick easily ... stick with a quality double braid I reckon.

I got a STEAL on 200 feet of 3/4" Tenex a couple of years ago so it has been my "big wood" rope for a while, (only use it while running a block and port-o-wrap) It has done it's job many times and is a strong piece of rope....

However, unless I get another deal on Tenex I am going back to the Stable Braid cause of the before mentioned thread picking...

Tenex is very strong, and flat too; so because of flat and picking is best for not rotating through/around curves as you are lowering. But is very strong for slings, and it's flattening out gives no dimension on bend to act as leveraged multiplier, so retains mroe strength on bend than round line(as stationary support/sling etc.).

The hollowness allows the flattehing and doesn't have inner rope material casuing internal friction. i like 3/8" Tenex for friction hitch; especially of self tenders: Icicle and it's brother Sailor Gripping Hitch lacings.
