Tell us your favorite.........

I am on an education committee that selects speakers for one of the countries biggest trade shows. We are meeting next month to start working on speakers for 2012. I am coming to my Buzz friends to find out who YOU want to see in 2012? Who was your favorite speaker of the past few years? favorite topic past few years? Whats are the "hottest" topics in our industry right now? What would you like to see at trade shows more?

Your input will directly affect the 2012 season, and we appreciate any help you can give.

Be safe!

In no order of importance...SRT climbing techniques, TRACE/hazard assessment, exotic invasives, ecologically responsible practices, new chainsaw protective clothing that fits well, looks cool and is affordable here in the states!

I am dying to see Kim Coder speak and the opportunity has never presented itself. Best speaker since Shigo I have heard.

As for topic...."new eab resistant cultivars".

Dr. John Ball is great speaker. The folks at COR egornomics. Managing/Preventative measures for EAB, SRT, diagnosing and treatment, hazard assessment and thresholds, soil amendments, advanced rigging.

Dr. John Ball left a lasting impression on me... He appeals to a wide audience as well. He is one of the academia guys that really gets it!

He was our keynote at the Ohio Treecare Conference 8 or so years ago. He was great too....

One of the best Speakers you will ever hear is Joe Boggs... Ohioians know him well... He is an entomologist with the OSU Extension in Hamilton County. I credit a lot of my arboricultural knowledge base to watching him speak for the last 15 years!

It may not be a favorite but a top flight sales trainer. God knows this industry needs it!

Agreed.

I also like Dr. Michael Raup from MD. He is entertaining and very knowledgeable about everything insect related.

Changing the face of the industry? Personally I haven't noticed....when did this happen and how? No offence to the two gentlemen in question.

I'd like to hear from Graeme McMahon, and you of course Jim!

Anyone here ever witnessed a Claus Mattheck lecture -infuriating at times but always memorable and entertaining.

Steve Sillet discussing his research work in the old growth forests is interesting, very good speaker also.

Would like to see a lecture or workshop by the McMahons of Australia with pictures and videos etc. Would also really like to see a talk by Gerry Beranek on his life in trees.

Have always wanted to see the legendary Steven Zimmerman lecture.
