I would love to add to this, but I would get told off...so i'll put it in the form of a question...For the overlap bury, I tapered about a foot of the core a good bit and it went through like a dream. If it doesn't go through easy, take it out an taper more!
All the taper gets cut off and then the core gets tapered again but not as much when it gets sucked in. Hard to explain. Step #8 on the tachyon directions.I would love to add to this, but I would get told off...so i'll put it in the form of a question...
If the core was tapered more, the full length(of the splice), lets say by 1/3 and that would be part of the eye, would that effect the strength by much? plus the eye would be softer...wouldn't it?
