Tachyon Question

For the overlap bury, I tapered about a foot of the core a good bit and it went through like a dream. If it doesn't go through easy, take it out an taper more!
I would love to add to this, but I would get told off...so i'll put it in the form of a question...

If the core was tapered more, the full length(of the splice), lets say by 1/3 and that would be part of the eye, would that effect the strength by much? plus the eye would be softer...wouldn't it?

I used a rubber mallet and whack on the bunching right there to help work it in. It can be done.

All the taper gets cut off and then the core gets tapered again but not as much when it gets sucked in. Hard to explain. Step #8 on the tachyon directions.

The directions are one thing, but so much of directions out on net are a blanket treatment, I splice everything, so I spend hours and hours, changing the tapers to make sure they are spot on, plus I extend buries on thicker ropes than the instructions provide....to me the instructions are just basic.

There so many easier methods to splice than the info online, its all in my back room:)

I managed. I measured these for a bit looser eye.

I have a few splices I cannot use the larger biners for. It's frustrating when that happens. Splices look good, nice job!
