SEPTEMBER 18, 2008 Worst Crisis Since '30s, With No End Yet in Sight

They could probably tone it down a little, wouldn't you think? You know, avoid panic and all?

About this time, way back then, my Pa's family ran to the bank and withdrew all their money. Three days later, he told me, the bank closed. They had a relative in New York who gave them the heads-up. They were in Iowa, Gramps was in Germany visiting and tried to get back but couldn't. There was no depositor's insurance then.

Today we have FDIC, but that money was used yesterday and this morning. All of it.

So, who thinks we should empty out our saving's accounts today and tomorrow?
 
It's the same thing as Tony's 'Money Room' where he runs his Mighty Tonkas through his piles of money. Ask him if you can come over to play sometime. He never would let me :)
 
It something the Republicans, using our money, just bailed-out the greedy failed institutions have. The same institutions that when we're hammered by their greed are told to suck it up and we're on our own.
 
Sure there were a few, no doubt.

But the SEC and McCain's Senate commission on banking and commerce as well as his long-touted "deregulate banking" plans, it's pretty evident where the blame goes. Who appointed the SEC chair? What's the mantra of the GOP?

I think they just cancelled themselves out of the presidency and hopes to enforce Reagan's 'trickle-down' mentality for not just the next few election periods.

GOP's just gonna have to "suck it up, be responsible, don't go into debt, work harder for a change, quit expecting handouts". Think they can do that?
 
Blame the victims, like Palin did to Alaskan women who were raped?

Not this time, sorry. Gone far enough and making those who always claimed "be responsible for your own actions" accept it and learn something is what's making my days at least tolerable under knowing the dread that lay ahead because of the fraud and deception and spin and greed of the GOP - the current one, not necessarily the historic one...but history hints otherwise.

And it's cool, we're all going to pay the price I know, been paying it for eight years now and maybe the Democrats can help the GOP gain some basic empathetic lessons in how humanity could show more respect and less selfishness.
 
Did you know Obama,Biden,etc recieved the most money from fanny and freddy? From their Lobby!And that in 05 Mcain drafted legislation tryin to reel in fanny & freddy. Saying something to the effect that if we do not resolve this it is going to come crashing in on us. The Dems voted in down. Hey let's be real here......... there is enough culpability to go 'round?! I am not making up the McCain thing ... check it out

Sorry man, but you are taking your talking points straight off Hannity & Colmes dude.
