Sugur

Stihlmadd

Been here a while
large sugar gum removal

they asked if it could be done in two days?
I said I hope you like your wood big.
first time using the x-rigging rings from the X-man
(Thank you David :numberone:)
I mixed it up with the traditional pulley set up in different configurations to see the difference
I liked them, the groundie liked them, folks we have a contender.

this vid is long.... yeh I indulged myself but kept the wub wub to an absolute bare minimum (y)
go on mates stick it out to the end :)
cheers Ben.

That was a big one, great test for the rings. Excellent, excellent work. Always look forward to your vid posts, and this one definitely did not disappoint! Multiple days on that job? Or all in one? Thanks. BTW, how did you float up the tree like that ;)? Maybe you could teach me. Big labor saver that :sisi:!

Nice Job Ben, Some real nice rigging. You need a crane;) How tall do you estimate them to be. At first they didn't look that tall. Then at the end with all the brush gone they looked to be pretty tall.

Big wood no doubt. What are you using for cameras?
thankyou Levi , the sugar gum is very dense timber , you can see it makes dust not chips when cutting. yes heavy both the foliage and the wood has some mass going on - good test for the x-rings :D
the helmet cam is a contour roam plus and the second remote one is a go pro 3 black.
cheers Ben.

4.1 meters around 1 meter up from the ground and about 35 meters to the tip, not a manly height but still respectable.:)
Multiple days on that job
nailed it in two 8 hour stints and one bee killing session the week before so 17 hours all told.
not too shabby at all.:descansando:
another day spent on the job (not me) with a crane truck to clean it all up and dusted, job done.

koala rescue came by on day two to collect the foliage to aid the koalas burnt in a recent bushfire and now in palliative care recovering from their injuries - he was a very positive and friendly gentleman (y)
I made good coin on this beast :envidioso

how did you float up the tree like that?
and that little trick will have to remain a secret much to everyones regret :reloco:
cheers Ben.

we were working within the customers budget and the breakdown was cheaper to dump down where ever possible while still trying to save as much garden as could be achieved without spending too much time on the task.
then pick it up with the supplied woodpig's crane truck - they take the wood no charge and we don't have to pay for the removal so what we save on labour we pass that onto the customer and they sell the wood processed down to billets to recoup their costs. win/win/win. our price stays competitive keeps the customer happy and my back loves the whole shebang.

estimate at 35 meters to the tip, t'was a lovely view of most of Adelaide from there. :rico:
cheers Ben.

DAMN DUDE THIS GOT ME FIRED UP! I would never watch an 11 minute video but you're killing it bro!

I have to go to Australia to climb trees like this and skateboard down the mountains.

edit: if you ever want to hire someone from Canada that's not Reg Coates or Cary Gibson (because those guys kill it too) let me know.

thank you very much sir, the trick is if it is good then you are captivated absorbing all the details so the time slips past you.
the human brain is one tricksy device thats for sure.
part of the reasoning for the length is so you can get a proper assessment of the tree and DZ as another climber and be able to judge for yourself the nature of the tree and how the job progressed in relation to the tree and DZ.

I have worked with Canadians in the past and one climber now resides in Adelaide permanently blokes name is Gary Moran.
I am not at a position yet of hiring and firing my own staff but am not worried about employing imports so please don't read this as a no go.;)
cheers Ben.
(as to skating down mountains you are on your own there buddy!) :risas:
