Stihl MS194T powerhead, no oil for 2nd time now

I've posted about this before, in this thread:

I called the shop and asked if blowing some compressed air thru the tank, maybe with some kind of makeshift rubber stopper w/hole in center, might help. The lead tech there told me, start with the groove where the oil emerges. Sometimes a quick blast there will clear whatever is keeping it from coming thru.

I am now in the habit of finishing my cuts with a burst of full throttle to clear the sawdust, and checking for oil after almost every cut. When I'm done for the day, before I power the saw down, I'll check for spray before I kill it. I even have a brush tied to my oil jug, which allows me to clear excess sawdust and dirt away from the caps before I open them. I'm doing everything I can to prevent this bulls__t from happening.

Hopefully the compressed air will do the trick. The trek to the shop, and the $$ shop time... PITA for something that's never happened to me before I purchased this MS194T. Good saw tho, other than that. I may like it better than my 201. I think it does better on fuel. Only thing is it's not spec'd for a 16" bar. But when you look @ the price difference... Jesus!

This problem 'fixed itself'. And here I thought that kind of thing was only a myth. I took the bar off, all ready to hit the oil groove w/air, and when I started it up, the oil was pumping forth. This in contrast to running the powerhead for several mins the day before, at different RPMs, and no oil. Very weird.

You'd be surprised that an itty bitty splinter can aim through the oil inlet filter screen and cork the hole. Happened repeatedly to my polesaw head. Best solution is disassemble and clean, but if it's cast into the saw body I'd say solvent rinse cleaning. Also watch out for blobs of congealed gunk in the oil.
