Hi all , looking for insight on the sterling atlas rigging lines..predominantly the larger diameter 5/8 or 3/4 inch users to chime in, please. I'm looking to buy a spool of new bull line and dont wanna regret my choice, I'm needing longer and longer lines all the time with the rigging we are doing lately.. I've got quite a bit of 9/16 polydyne and all husky 3/4 ...retired my last hank of 5/8 s line husky all gear.. and really liked the hand on the atlas 5/8 I checked out at expo.. thanks for your thoughts and experience!

I only have a second, but can say you won’t regret getting 5/8 atlas, especially if you’ve liked polydyne. Tough jacket, tough rope, easy tying, easy loading.

We run 1/2” Atlas and have been very happy with it. Never used anything bigger, we use 5/8” Sirius for larger line and have been really happy with that for quite some time.

My experience with the 1/2", 9/16" and 5/8" Atlas is the same as for the first 9/16" hank I bought several years ago... very, very good line with excellent energy absorption, and very tough.

I have one hank of StableBraid that I keep around for working above a house, etc. when I need a lot of control and no stretch, but that's really rare. Usually, I take care of those problems with 1/2" setup and small pieces.

It's a great rope... some people have complained that it hockles more than other doublebraid lines, but I haven't really noticed it being any worse. I lay it out away from the friction brake and then run my hands over it from the tree out to the tail (like milking a rope) and it reduces the problem.

I run 1/2", 9/16", and 5/8" Atlas lines. Love them all. Tried the 3/4" before it was released to the public and the roll that I had was impressively built but quickly became quite stiff when it came to knotability. It did have impressive shock absorption and seemed very durable.
