StaSet breaking strength

I bought some 3/8 StaSet today, and I was told the breaking strenth was only 4400 lbs. Is this correct, and if it is, how are people using this for eye-eye split tails? Split tails are supposed to meet the same strength requirements as our ropes correct?

i think a Tautline/ Blake's open hitch/ linear in 6k isn't as strong as a closed/eye to eye hitch in basket position in 4k.
