Thought I would share. I always hated hearing from people that tree work was a job that had no potential to grow as a individual. Well it has got me to more places then I could ever imagine.

We had to pressure test some pipes, and then connect them so they could go operational. It is on a new oil rig that is being commissioned. We are about 275 feet off the water. The crew leader and myself are the two hanging at the end setting it up.

Thanks for sharing. That is cool.

Do I see one of the guys on rope wearing a flotation vest of some sort?

That would feel different...sitting in a saddle with a life vest on...I guess that's the oil rig climber's equivalent of 2 points of attachment when operating a saw.

"Well, at least if my GriGri fails I'll pop back up to the surface after plummeting 275 feet into the crashing surf below...No biggie..."

(Just making a joke...I know you guys are way more professional than that...)

Nice! It must feel like M:I up there, even though it isn't impossible.

Its awesome for sure! The life vest has to be on anytime we are over the water. At that height it would only help to get our body out of the water without the use of a dive team. If I get anymore interesting pics I will post them up.
