Tried first attempt at splicing poison Hivy. Decided to use the Toss specifications or method ie. 24 x dia for tail length and decided to bury without taper of core as Toss suggests. Taper cover only . Had to use mechanical advantage when closing up the eye . Used a small block and tackle set up with 1/4 in. line 6:1 mech. advantage. The result was a very stiff six inches post eye relative to the factory eye I purchased at the show . Sherrill must taper their core and cover to get the smooth transition relative to our attempt which left a thicker and very stiff neck past the eye. Can anybody attest to this? Pictures to follow.
