Splicing BeeLine 8mm

Just wanted to know if anyone had any advice or links I can follow for splicing BeeLine. Wanting to make a few eye and eyes.
Thanks for the awesome forum guys. I've gotten some great info from here...been lurking for a bit now. Finally decided to come out of the shadows

Right now you do a double locked brumell on the core, then bury I think it's a 6" tail, then whip the cover over the core.

Yale doesn't have directions on their website yet, though there are some .ppt's floating around that show the steps.

Man, good timing. Just about to try to knock one of these out.

Since we're on the subject, would it work to pull the core out entirely, eye splice the ends, and then draw it back through the cover and finish like usual?

Just to keep it rolling, any tidbits of good ways of keeping the exposed eyes snag free? My HRC tail at work is getting all fuzzed up, mostly from the carabiner opening.

Take care.

From what I know, lots of beeswax will keep the tail snag free. Any other good ideas out there?
Good question about taking out the core...would that work? Seems to me like that would be a bit easier.

As long as the finished product is as I described, then it is cool to pull the core out entirely.

In my experience, beeswax doesn't last very long in the field and you soon end up with loosey-goosey core strands again. I would recommend Yale Maxijacket coating (which can be expensive to obtain as it is typically sold by the gallon only. Another option is the whip it dip it stuff made by starbrite.

Talk to Kevin Bingham about that beeswax. I know he uses that for his eyes. You can see how long it is lasting him.

Yale also sells the MaxiJacket by the quart. Which will go a long way if all you are doing is coating eyes.

Where can I find this elusive MaxiJacket? I've searched and searched today, but to no avail. Any ideas?

On a sidenote, thanks for the splicing supplies John
