Spider Jack 3 pg 91 ??

Hello
Has anyone looked at there SJ3 manual page 91 and understand what the danger is ? Im scratchin my fore head here .
ART has always caught my attention so I broke down and purchased SJ3, there is not much info that I see about its practical use .
Seems like a good set up for large canopy trees, There two rope anchor does not indicate a carabiner to organize lines like there showing on illustration pg.91

Looks to be about the push button to rotate body back into position. After rereading your post, doesn’t seem like you’re referencing the page Jonny showed.

im guessing if one gets close to tie in point brake function may not work if lines are spread out and carabiner will pull them in line

From personal experience, your brake function requires a lot more pressure and your release is jerky when your lines aren't parallel due to being too close to a fat tie in point. I could see an extreme scenario where you'd drop a little bit unexpectedly.

Page 91?! That's gotta be an impressive manual, I should check out some ART stuff, any company putting the work into a manual that comprehensive clearly cares about their customers.

The spider jack 3 doesn't handle large natural crotches. When the angle of the two legs of rope get spread, for example on spar work with no friction saver the clutch will not grab and you will freefall to the point where the clutch can grab again. My sj3 only gets used with a friction saver for this reason.

Thanks man
ART is pricey and there twin line anchor probably came about as a result of this issue , so to be fully ARTed , looks like over $1k Buy once cry once and dont look back !

any friction saver is going to work just fine with the sj3. For pruning I'll grab the sj3 on the rare occasion I'm running MRS. For crane removals and such I go with my updated zig zag
