An unidentified man is dead after falling 40 feet from a tree on DeForest Street in Binghamton around 3 p.m. today.
The man, who was hired to cut down trees in the area, was in a tree with a chainsaw when he fell, scanner reports indicate. Neighbors at the scene said they called police.
The man died of a head injury, police said.
