I worked for a guy in Oxford once, I was contracting for him it was my second day. We were working on a tree over hanging woodstock road near the centre of town. Thats the main route in to the centre from the northern ring road. The tree was accross one carriagway, I think I was only deadwooding. Anyway I left the traffic management to him, he went to his van and got out a deck chair and an old tin of paint and put them in the road. The traffic had to swerve to miss them.

"there you go", he said, "TRAFFIC F***ING MANAGEMENT!"

Anyways, I'm sure we used one of those matadors for felling beech trees on the Newbury Bypass Project. Had to get them over quick before swampy turned up. Those were the days!!

swampys now residing in the cavities of steves beech's.
That must of been an expierence rupe all those angry crusty's throwing poo..abuse and spiking trees ect

We were all done and out of there befor the real SH*t hit the fan. We took down indiviadual trees along the route before the major clear felling started. Had a few run ins, nothing serious, got on channel four news, nothing too dramatic.

In fact swampy wasn't there then, but I think the word/name has generic meaning now.
