Some recent work

Love your videos, Gord. But, there's some kinda 'copyright' problem with this one. It seems to be 'blocked' here in the states.

I liked the jump from the mid tree to tree top. Bit of excitement to start the day. Those trees you wedged seem to hold on quite a bit with such little hinge left. I prefer them to get a move on with less enticing. Good vid Gord.

Nice vids, Gord. You are smooth and fun to watch!

When you are roping off a chunk from the spar, you have your climb line choked around the stem with your hitch on the single line ready for descent if needed. Do you have any other friction device in there besides the friction hitch? If not, how do you address the issue of single line descent on a friction hitch being difficult or problematic due to the SRT setup instead of the usual DRT??

Thanks, Gord.

I suppose there's two quick and dirty ways to descend srt with this setup. The easiest is to get a loose footlock on your rope while descending to lessen the friction on the VT. The other is to clip a bight of rope from below the VT into the carabiner choked on the stem, then grip the fall of the rope with the same hand you're gripping the VT with and descend.

I know the setup isn't unambiguously the safest, it's just what works best for myself. And the safest practices are the ones that actually get used.

Thanks Cory.

you using that new 261 alot gord?

I think that saw is a 362, one of the better models around right now in my opinion, I do use it a lot. The 361 was sturdier feeling in the hands, the 362 feels a little floppy but that's due to the different anti-vibe mounts (which do make a difference.)
