some help for half dead picea's

some help for half dead picea\'s

Often simmilar jobs seem to come in pairs or even groups.

Now i have two clients who have aked me to take off the dead top part of Picea trees.

One of the is well in to the 30 m. The dead part is quite long, estimating from the ground i would give her 12 meters. Futher more the tree is lockedin between a sweet sequoia, a stable and power lines. No room to take it down in one go. i dont really feal like climbing in to the dead branche and take it dow bit bit bit. The client tells me it has been dead for a year or two,i dont really know what he means by dead ect ect. No help there. However there still seem to be twigs all the way up to the top.

Did not climb up the top inspect, got other stuff to do, for the time beeing.

The other is a smaller and there is more room, so not to bad.

The bottom parts of both trees are in a verry healthy state. Most branches have tree seasons of needles on them.

Annyone got suggestions or experiance?

Sorry no picture for the moment.

thanks maarten

Re: some help for half dead picea\'s

Bonjour Maarten, bienvenue à Treebuzz ! Espoir vous vous amusez ici.

Maarten, this job sounds very dangerous with the power lines near. Can the Sequoia be used as an anchor point tree to access the Piceas? What about access for a spiderlift aerial platform? It sounds like those trees would be very hazardous to climb with the tops being so dead.

Good to see photos of the trees.

Try to post some pics or draw us all a diagram showing the relative positions of the other trees buildings power lines etc.

Maybe the top can be rigged away from the power lines, maybe it can be pieced with a pole saw from the last live part of the same tree, maybe you could put an attachment in the next tree....without some better idea of what you have there too many variables to offer useful specific advice.

Re: some help for half dead picea\'s

thanks for the reply, the thing is the clients live a bit out of the way, way out in the woods, will be a while before i can get some pitures, but when i will, i'll post some. Nice spot they have there.
annyhow using the seaquoia as an anker point is the best bet.

Re: some help for half dead picea\'s

Maarten,

Do spruces over there get Ips beetle infestations, or similar? This beetle causes the tops of Spruces to die first, followed by the rest of the tree. It may be that your client's trees are dying.
