The moral of the story is Bashlin knocked it out of the park decades ago with their aluminum climbers.

I love seeing the gear and tools evolve. It’s wild seeing what folks come up with when they get to thinking and have access to space age materials. I’m pretty guilty of spending more than I should on new gadgets, but since I got my Bashlin aluminums with caddy pads and Velcro upper and lower straps, I haven’t felt the need to shop for cool new spurs. I think I’m all set on gaffs for the rest of my life.

Could you send me a link to the “bashlin aluminums with caddy pads” ? I would love to check them out but not sure I have the right model
