Speculation - paid an extended visit to Wesspur without his wife/ significant other to keep him grounded? I know mine performs this function excessively well (especially in treegear and ski stores). Are you finding arb gear that washed up on shore in a giant waterproof cargo container? I've seen you post for sale like half a dozen zig zags and some really mint gear over the last couple years. I bought one of the zig zags even. My curiosity is peaked on why/how you have all this stuff that's brand new and going out the door.
I always have a few young climbers I am working with and if they are progressing and it’s clear that they are gonna stay in the game I offer to buy them a new fly piece of gear of their choosing when their birthday rolls around. One of this years candidates wanted to get out of his gawd awful Notch steels and his 2 choices were these Distels or some Bashlins/caddy pads. After a few seconds in each he quickly chose the Bashlins. Since the Distels are technically used it would be unethical to return them so they get sold on treebay and I absorb the cost. I do this a few times a year and the reward is well worth it. It’s like Santa Claus and Treejeezus had an illegitimate love child. Are you finding arb gear that washed up on shore in a giant waterproof cargo container? What if I want my curiosity to be "peeked"? Sometimes I'm so curious I'm hidden in the bushes catching whatever glimpse I can.Curiosity is piqued not peaked.
Yes, I was weaned on a pickle, thanks for pointing it out.

ha ha, not enough to walk into that trap!
Yea, I can't remember tree life before Bashlin's and I'm over 4 decades into this game. They were light years ahead of everyone else and its surprising how long it took Buckingham, DMM, and finally Distel to incorporate Bashlin's design ideas into their own spurs. On paper the Distel's have everything one could want in a spur and I understand why so many love them, but they just don't work for me. Too many years in Bashlin's and Buck's so the geometry and angles on the Distel's feel really awkward to me. In Bashlin's or the new Buck's with the offset gaffs/stirrup/grip technology I don't even think about my spurs. 40+ years of muscle memory seems to take care of it...The moral of the story is Bashlin knocked it out of the park decades ago with their aluminum climbers.
I love seeing the gear and tools evolve. It’s wild seeing what folks come up with when they get to thinking and have access to space age materials. I’m pretty guilty of spending more than I should on new gadgets, but since I got my Bashlin aluminums with caddy pads and Velcro upper and lower straps, I haven’t felt the need to shop for cool new spurs. I think I’m all set on gaffs for the rest of my life.
