100% new and unused Distel Carbon 3’s with Velcro lowers and long gaffs (short/longs are interchangeable). Curiosity killed the cat and I just had to see what all the fuss was about. A beautifully designed and built set of spurs, but it was clear after trying one on that these where not my cup o tea. I guess I will just have to suffer through my old Buck & Mallory/opsal/caddy combo till death do us part.

$600 shipped. (the janky ass Gecko Carbon’s are $820) SOLD

I am very particular about both gaff and shank geometry and they were not for me. As I said they are a beautifully designed and built spur, are crazy light and built for comfort so i can understand why folks love them. Just not my thing...
Interesting thanks for sharing, same issue I’ve had, also still running bucks with the steel Velcro wrap. Kind of gave up on trying new ones as I find the current geometry to be pretty perfect the weight doesn’t bother me but others always say how heavy they are lol kind of gave up on trying new ones

I know I could end up loving the Distel‘s, but after 40 yrs of Buck/Bashlins & caddys thats a big ask. The thought of spending 6 months getting accustomed to these things and eating a bunch of fir bark in the process just doesn’t appeal to me.

How’s that for a sales pitch?

I think I could sell both of my sets and retire. I think I paid $370 years ago.
Yea, gear and saws has gotten rediculously expensive over the last few years. I recently ran a properly modded 500i which also had West Coast Saws 500i kit which included the bark box, dawgs, air filtration, and av kit. I am generally not a Stihl guy but I ain't gonna lie, it was an amazing saw. I was all hot under the collar to purchase one until I saw the sticker price on the whole package. That kind of money for an 80cc saw that will pull no more that a 36" bar. Not in this lifetime.
