I was angling for a bigger crane before buying this one, but also wanted something small to learn on and then upgrade the crane on the truck.

It is just too short for the trees we deal with, so after a year it is time to move on. We decided to just go all new, instead of just upgrading the crane.

Plus my wife hated Big Red...but yet now is sad because he for sale [emoji23]

This is true. Like @climbhightree we started with a used small crane and then upgrade a year later to something brand new. Slightly bigger.....now we want another one that's even bigger. It might never end. I tend to focus on the positives of our current crane. Like the fact it has such a small footprint you can get really close to the tree!!

The new crane should have a smaller footprint than this one, and about 40' more of reach...and way more versatile.

I'm pretty sure my wife is hoping it will cure any itch for future cranes, and probably much more. She is already demanding a whole litter of chocolate lab puppies to offset the new crane [emoji23]

People laugh, but I am restoring a 1985 ltl 9000 to put a brand new effer 655 6s+6s with a flat bed for plywood, skid, and stumper. It is going to be fantastic. I already own the truck and have dumped a mint into it, so I will never ever be able to get anything out of it with a log body and prentice 124. so I'm going unmount the equipment after it gets back from the body shop, then send it to the interior shop. After that I think I'm going to go ahead and rebuild the entire motor and put a new radiator in. Then all is finished except the crane and bed, but that's the easy part.
