Big leaf maple is a coastal tree in BC, with some near creeks and rivers in the interior. This is not Big leaf. The 2 other candidates would be Vine and Douglas. Keep in mind the potted tree is almost a bonzai at this point... It has a trunk with bark and a small buttress beginning to form. The leaves are way smaller than they should be. They will continue to decrease in size the more I prune the branches and trim the roots.Big leaf given your location?
Looks similiar to a sugar or Norway too. A good shot of buds and samaras would be helpful for a better ID
