image.webp We just got the first snow of the year. In past years I usually park all the trucks in the winter to keep everything out of the salt. This year I'm planning on running a chip truck and chipper. I'm considering running the rest of the fleet, but don't want to regret it when I start having corrosion issues a few years from now. I'm curious as to how many of you guys park stuff for the winter? I don't get enough work through the winter to stay busy so I just give a discount to bank it for the spring if it's not a urgent job.

First few years I parked everything. We dabbled with occasional winter work.

Last several years we have too much business. Now we even schedual jobs for frozen ground. So...Make sure you have a shop/garage you can bring in equipment to thaw and work on out of the elements. Plowed dump spots are required too. A mini with a bucket is awesome to clear snow out of the way.

Once a year we pressure wash, spot sand blast and paint. Fluid film or motor oil the undersides after pressure washing. The salt the piss out of the roads around here.
