Anyone flying a singingrock timber 3D? There's very little info on the internet at all, a single discussion here, I think @ATH has one.
The one English video on YT is a 3min product showcase video from niceguydave where he states he hadn't tried it so not much to learn there. Then there are a handful of other videos in CZ without English subtitles but I couldnt understand much. Well I bought one, for $250 from a local vendor why not. I'm 3 weeks in, switched from my 5 year old Sequoia and I really like it so far! It's much more comfy in general than the Sequoia, especially hanging long periods and/or standing on spikes (but that's not really fair to compare brand new to old-n-Busted).
I really do like almost everything about it, the only things I don't like:
-While a carabiner does fit in the "lower D" shackles it's not easy to get them there.
-Riser adjuster straps fold-back buckles put the tail of the strap right at the lower D's
-No saw lanyard attachment (there are full rated webbing loops but no ring or boat snap and the handsaw ring definitely won't cut it)
So far I've replaced the shackles with Petzl Open rings and cut the angle cuts off the riser tails to get them just a tiny bit more out of the way of the lower D points. I've gotta address the saw attachment next, I'll sew my own ring. Also for some reason my shembeiner keeps falling off even though it's tight on the double webbing, never had that happen before...
