Anyone flying a singingrock timber 3D? There's very little info on the internet at all, a single discussion here, I think @ATH has one.

The one English video on YT is a 3min product showcase video from niceguydave where he states he hadn't tried it so not much to learn there. Then there are a handful of other videos in CZ without English subtitles but I couldnt understand much. Well I bought one, for $250 from a local vendor why not. I'm 3 weeks in, switched from my 5 year old Sequoia and I really like it so far! It's much more comfy in general than the Sequoia, especially hanging long periods and/or standing on spikes (but that's not really fair to compare brand new to old-n-Busted).

I really do like almost everything about it, the only things I don't like:
-While a carabiner does fit in the "lower D" shackles it's not easy to get them there.
-Riser adjuster straps fold-back buckles put the tail of the strap right at the lower D's
-No saw lanyard attachment (there are full rated webbing loops but no ring or boat snap and the handsaw ring definitely won't cut it)

So far I've replaced the shackles with Petzl Open rings and cut the angle cuts off the riser tails to get them just a tiny bit more out of the way of the lower D points. I've gotta address the saw attachment next, I'll sew my own ring. Also for some reason my shembeiner keeps falling off even though it's tight on the double webbing, never had that happen before...

Here's a link to my review. There's some more tidbits in that thread.

I replaced the shackles with ring opens as well. More real-estate for carabiners or rope snaps. I run the Shembiner XL and it doesn't give me any trouble on the webbing. I anchor my saw lanyard to the rated loop on the back on the harness. 100kg or 220 lbs. I'm comfortable with that number; by comparison a buckingham breakaway saw lanyards breaks at 200lbs.

I don't own one, but have climbed in it a handful of times. A friend has it, so I've used that one. I do think it s a really good option.

As for needing to add attachment points...Tree motion is the same there.

On the Shembiner, there are little holes above and below the "slot". I ran a piece of throw line through those to keep it from slipping off. It still comes off of the strap sometimes, but the line keeps it from dropping.

I tied mine on after your post. I also got around to adding a real saw lanyard ring. I noticed the holes are threaded, I wonder if there was at one time plans for another part to bolt it on like a DMM vault. Threading, and even drilling in the first place are all additional expenses mfg wise.

The biner has slipped off of the webbing, but the piece of throwline has kept it from falling off of the saddle
I have thought too about stacking zip ties in the slot where the belt goes, to keep it in place. I’ve lost mine a couple times as well, but stopped using it when I upgraded saddles so I haven’t tried the zip ties yet.
