I agree, the mini traxion has it's problems. As far as capturing the progress and near frictionless travel it works good. I only use mine on the big tree climbs for fun, not for work.

Last night in my shop Ben and I set up this SRT system with the bungee. We used a simple chest harness instead fo the chest box and a pantin on the right foot. WOW!!! talk about fast.. what a cool set up!! Now I know what I'm getting for christmas.

Mark, you mentioned you prefer to footlock to keep in check for comps, are you footlocking a single rope or a doubled rope?

What is the purpose for the two ascenders?
Can you use both on the single rope?

Kevin,

One ascender per foot = faster ascent. They both work on a single rope. One is close to the ankle the other the knee. Make sense?

It makes sense Mark but I'm thinking less progress with smaller steps due to both ascenders being in such close proximity to each other but I've never seen this system in action.

A caving guy once told me that the fastest times in their competitions all are scored by this type of system.

the pulley also allows the bungee cord to pull one ascender up when you step on the other....
