Silver maple crane removal

[ QUOTE ]
Really nice job.

How long did the crane work portion take (without finish clean-up, etc.)?

According to my camera, I began ascending around 8:30 and the stump cut was lifted at 11:20.

So pretty much cause it was a silver maple :P. I love when people plant these trees cause they want a maple tree in their yard, and they plant it somewhere like 8 feet from their house, or in the back corner of their yard right up close to a fence. Silly site for a silly tree.

Awesome job with the crane work, smooth, very smooth.

Looked real smooth guys. I like seeing stuff dialed in.

I can tell the sawyer likes to make the cut and then back off. I too like to to be defensive when the load is being lifted. However, I couldn't help but notice the face of the notch being too wide open at 6:00-6:24. The leader wasn't that obtuse to begin with. With the angle the leader was at, I'd put in a notch that would be about 1/2" thick. This would allow the crane to snap the hinge fibers when the limb was "cabled up" into the plumb position.

Just a minor thing. And that one occasion may not describe how he always does it, either. Just my observation...

I'm glad the squirrel made it out safely (6:12). What a leap!!

Wow didn't even see that...good catch.

Great video...I agree not enough women in the industry.

Awesome job both rigging and cutting. When the climber can get a good position like that for the lift it is the best way to go. Nice picks with minimal movement. Good job following the squirrel with the camera too.

Taylor, nice work on your part, as always.

The cutter appeared to hinge several picks throughout the job, correct me if I'm wrong. Was that necessary or is it just his way? Thanks
