Side loaded Roperunner

An apprentice took a swing on my Roperunner and side loaded it pretty hard against a branch, the spring recoils fine when holding the device in your hand however when tending slack sometimes the bird won't reecoil causing the RR to fall back down the rope and stay open.. all the bolts are still tight and I can't really find anything damaged! anybody got any answers?

I'm no expert but I wouldn't climb on it until you get it fixed. If the bird doesn't spring back up it will be dangerous to use. Something is probably slightly bent even if you can't see it. Or there may be some bark or debris wedged in it somewhere causing it to bind up a little.

My akimbo just arrived so I can use that until I solve the problem, yeah It's a write off at the moment. I'll further inspect it and see if I can find the problem I guess

You can send it to me or treestuff or Sherrill or cmi and we can see what we can do to get it in working order. My address 427 w greendale det michigan. 48203
I've pulled it apart this afternoon, given it a good clean up and oil and tightened all the bolts, the spring seems to be recoiling abit harder than it was before so I'll give it a test run to see if it is preloading as it was before and let you know how I get on, Thankyou!
