Been there, done that, with the 'rigging line-lanyard burn'. Just glad it wasn't a complete burn-through and that I had a secondary tie-in. Good to know about the heat resistant hitch cord. I've been wanting a thinner lanyard anyway. Any idea what he was using? HRC? Armor Prus?I use a dynamic line for my lanyard and always have to be super careful of running ropes , the other day I was working with a friend who is a very good climber and thought he didn't notice the rigging line run across his lanyard .....but.... he knew it was going to happen and as it was heat resistant hitch cord he wasn't to worried about the brief encounter with running rope ........ I can dig that, and although its not something i would recommend people to get complacent about , It does add a in a slight safety factor in respect to running lines when top rope rigging.
