shopping for lighter harness

I have tried everything out there except the tree austria 3.1, and stein vega. Im looking for any true input on these 2 rides if anyone is currently using either? Hip pinch , acorn crunch , or constant loosening is what counts with me. Thanks!

I have used the Tree Austria 3.1 for a year now and climb in it everyday. It is very comfortable although a bit more minimalistic compared to some of its competitors. It does not have huge, wide leg loops or a ton of padding on the back and yet when snugged up properly it is very comfortable. It does not loosen up, and I don't get any major pinching with it. It does have a batten seat add-on option as well. I have it but find I use it very rarely. The side D's are slightly closer to the front than other saddles but I personally like it and find it comfortable. If you are looking for a plush, cush, padded all to hell saddle this is not the one. But if you want a ultra light, well made pro saddle this is a great choice. Hope this helps.

I love my Petzl Navajo. I like not having a bridge and there isn't anything much cleaner and lighter on the market. Since they just changed them you can find brand new Navajo saddles for around $200!

Petzl saddles kik butt . I had a Navajo for several years, and for straight ahead tree work that saddle was hard to beat. Lightweight, efficient, and comfortable, hard to go wrong. The single D bridge works like a charm, do not be put off by the lack of a 'bridge' per se, the Navajo does not need one.

But....the Sequoia for a fair bit more cash, is a damn great saddle as well.
Did a quick take down today in it and was reminded again how much I love the Petzl saddle.
The back support in the Sequoia is awesome.
One thing I was not impressed with was finding out after having purchased the saddle(used mind you)that it is not Ansi rated as the rings are only rated for 15 kn, much like the ZigZag, was not impressed with that much, but cant do much about it now.

I can tell you one thing . I recently replaced my tree austria 3.1 for a TM and I miss my tree austria 3.1 . I think it was by far the best saddle I've climbed in!

x10!

TA 3.0 for me. I hope I can still get one when this one expires. If not I'll go 3.1 for sure. Lightweight, comfy as heck, and durable - great work harness.

I have TM too, but only use it for rec climbs, it's almost too cozy for working in.

just wondering if any of you guys tried the new and "improved" edge by sherrill or should i say buckingham? the think looks comfy and functional. i figured id ask before i made the leap as well..
thanks

I have the ergo and its a comfortable work horse. I would really like to add a little bit lighter harness just for pruning ,and rec climbs. The edge looks like a very good all around harness!

Guys youd do well too chek out the Petzl Avao. Essentially the 'new Navajo' I rocked a Navajo for quite a while and not one climb did that saddle ever let me down. Great light saddle for staright ahead take downs or pruning. I found the center D attachment worked great, never had issues with maneuverablilty. Some shops still stock the Navajo, saw them on sale at Baileys for 179 a while ago. But the Avao is the same saddle, just a bit more expensive.
