Shoe grip in the canopy & limb walking

Gang,
Been thinking about getting some grippier shoes for climbing, especially in damp or mossy bark. Then it hit me - what about golf spikes? Does any manufacturer make a hiking boot with golf-type spikes built in, or a golf shoe with hiking boot support?
I love my Red Wings, but man those soles are slippery on damp bark.
Cheers

Calk boots. I rarely climb in mine, but they do work great for walking on slippery limbs/severely leaning wood. Hoffman has a very large selection.

This is kinda what I was thinking. But like Sean is saying, twisting your feet with spikes will likely damage the bark.. I had a pair of sketchers once that had many (hundreds) rubber nubs on the sole.. I'm trying to find some like that again.
Thanks guys.

Fly fisherman often wear shoes with really thick felt soles to grip on slippery river rocks. Maybe something like that would work on slippery limbs too? I have some 1/2 inch thick wool felt somewhere around here. If I can find it, I will ShoeGoo some of it to the bottom of an expendable old pair of work shoes and give it a trial.

I remember a while ago fisher-people almost had felt soles for waders banned in some States/ streams due to the likelihood of the felt transmitting invasive species from one watercourse to another. Not sure if the same would be true for tree bugs 'n crud but it might be worth considering. I'm not sure how this issue ended up for fisherfolk generally but I've fly fished with felt and dang they've always worked while my rubber soled friends were sorta skating around.
